Retinal Screening System

Nearly 50% of diabetics suffer from some degree of retinal change. With regular screening diabetic retinopathy can be detected in its early stage and its progression can be prevented in time. The ProWellness Retinal Screening System is an efficient tool to follow up on diabetic patients’ state of eye care and treatments. With a systematic screening program possible lesions are found and patients who need care can be referred to an eye specialist for further examination and treatment.

The system covers call and recall, letters of invitation, screening, grading, referrals and consultations. Due to the system design, images and grading results are available in real-time basis for all care units even if the screening is conducted centrally. The system can be interfaced to a picture archiving system (PACS) or images can be maintained and manipulated in the system as well.

The Retinal Screening System integrates tightly with the Diabetes Management System; eye examinations, grading results, confirmed diagnoses and treatments entered e.g. by an ophthalmologist are automatically available in both systems.
